On Monday Spartak Academy’s mentees born in the year of 1996 conducted the final pre-competition training to prepare for Spartak Cup international junior tournament.

Only team captain Ayaz Guliev didn’t participate in the training session, as he had got a serious head injury in one of warm-up matches; the other footballers listed in the tournament entry form trained in the general group. Defender Yevteev and midfielder Panteleev have managed to recover for the competitions; earlier doctors diagnosed their ankle joint ligament injuries. Forward Akhmaev, who had missed two test matches, have also returned to the ranks.

Eighteen footballers will take part in Spartak Cup tournament: goalkeepers Anton Mitryushin and Yuri Scherbakov, guards Alexey Grechkin, Yegor Yevteev, Alexey Ivanushkin, Alexander Likhachev, Alexander Krasnov, Nikita Romaschenko, Anton Fyedotov and Vladimir Kharatyan, midfielders Vladlen Babaev, Zelimkhan Bakaev, Danila Buranov, Igor Konovalov, Vladislav Panteleev and Ragim Sadykhov, forwards Said Akhamaev and Alexander Yuriev.

The "Red and Whites" have got a strong-willed state of mind for the tournament; Spartak Club members born in the year of 1996 have been familiar with the flavor of victory. They have become winners of winter and summer Moscow championships on numerous occasions; in 2010 they became holders of Moscow City Cup. The team has got extensive competition experiences: Spartak-96 has asserted itself in major international tournaments. In 2011 Academy’s mentees became holders of two prestigious silverwares: in spring they won Stefano Gusella Torneo in Italy and in summer they got Morozov’s Memorial Championship Cup in St Petersburg. The last season brought Spartak Club members the victory in Winter Moscow Championship and embarrassing fifth place in Russia Championship: by conceding one goal only during the tournament our team failed to become among the medalists. Spartak-96 also was ranked fifth in 2012 Summer Championship standings.

Last year footballers born in the year of 1996 were actively involved in games for Academy’s team-1995. In particular, Anton Mitryushin, Alexander Likhachev, Anton Fedotov and Vladislav Panteleev participated in U-17 international tournament dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the club in Spartak-95 team. Eight team footballers at once: Anton Fedotov, Alexey Grechkin, Vladislav Panteelv, Alexander Likhachev, Ayaz Guliev, Vladlen Babaev, Timur Dudaev and Said Akhmaev – with Spartak-95 became bronze medalists of Russia Championship in July 2012.

The team potential is also evidenced by the number of footballers, who regularly play for Russia national junior team. Goalkeeper Anton Mitryushin is the team captain, also Alexey Grechkin, Alexander Likhachev, Ayaz Guliev and Danila Buranov play in the core team in key games.

In the break of Russia Football Premier League Championship eight Academy’s mentees born in the year of 1996 were added to Spartak Moscow junior team entry form. These are defenders Alexander Likhachev, Alexey Grechkin, Anton Fedotov and Yegor Yevteev, midfielders Ayaz Guliev, Danila Buranov, Vladislav Panteleev and Vladlen Babaev. And goalkeeper Anton Mitryushin even was included in B list, i.e. he will be entitled to play not only for the substitute team, but for the core team of the club as well.

The team that is going to vindicate club’s honor in Spartak Cup is trained by Spartak school graduates Vladimir Dzhubanov and Dmitry Ratnikov. Dzhubanov, who at the time of George Yartsev played for Spartak first team, joined Academy’s coaching staff in early 2013, whereas Ratnikov has been engaged in Spartak youth training since 2012. In the last U-17 international tournament he assisted Andrey Pyatnitsky to deal with Spartak-95.
